Life Skill - Chicken Processing

Disclaimer - this is an important practical skill, but it might make some people a little queasy.

We graciously had four roosters donated to our church. These chickens were healthy, coming from a well-maintained backyard flock, but needed to be removed.

Paul gave instructions on how to process the chickens, drawing from his extensive military background.

Importantly, it was emphasized that the whole event needs to be performed with respect for the bird. Even chickens are part of God's good creation, and we don't want to cause needless pain or suffering during the event.

Everything was prepared in detail, from using a funnel for the initial action...

to removing the feathers...

to dressing the bird.

And it was fun!!

In the end, each family took home a processed chicken for dinner!
